T-shirts point runners to Christ in Middle East

Sharing the gospel always calls for sensitivity and creativity.  Once you cross a culture however, the challenge of how to “sow seeds widely” becomes even greater, especially among resistant least-reached peoples.

Kathy and her teammates in the Middle East, recently employed a particularly novel way to promote their new website.  With a local half marathon imminent, Kathy took on the heat and began training with a few others, keen to seize this opportunity.  While they trained plans were also afoot for suitable running attire.  A stylish t-shirt was designed with the website address printed across the front and a portion of Scripture enhanced with a graphic covered the back.

A mix up with dates meant a final mad-rush to get everything ready for the race. The t-shirts were printed just in time and four people ran, advertising the website.  Kathy enthuses, “The design turned out really well and now we, along with some other friends, continue wearing these t-shirts around.  We’re hoping people will connect to the internet site and get in touch with us to find out more about Jesus.  Pray that they will.”  The website address means ‘narrow road’.

Shortly after the half-marathon a marriage seminar was on the agenda.  A national believer who has studied counseling overseas came to their city for four very full days.  He conducted a marriage seminar over a couple of nights, shared with the house church, and spoke individually with some believers and with some of their friends.   He shared insightfully from God’s principles and also prayed for individuals and their situations.  Kathy commented, “We believe that for some who already know a little about Jesus, this will be another important step on the journey closer to Him.  It was a great few days and a huge blessing for the fledgling church in this city.”
