Pain and suffering

Hello from LA in the US of A!

It's taken me a good four minutes of credit to figure out how to use this public internet and that is only after the following conversation:

Me: Is their email somewhere around here?
Nice Lady:No, ma'am, maybe you can get someone to post it for you.
Me: No, sorry, I meant EEEmailing.
NL: No, there's nowhere to mail anything in the airport.  I'm sorry.
Me: I mean... like, the internet???
NL: Oh!  The IN'ERNET  (pronounced with strong American accent).  Yes, it's upstairs by the Chinese food!

I think I need to work on my cross cultural skills a bit more.

Anyway, I managed to navigate the airport ok, mostly cos there was a delay at the main terminal and so they dropped us at the terminal I needed to be at anyway.  And I just tried to look friendly yet imploring and people pointed me in the right direction.

The  flight, however, was fraught with dangers.  I have THREE papercuts and lost a contact lens (managed to rescue it though).  AND I had to suffer the loss of hotcakes for breakfast as I decided to be healthy and go for the lighter eggs option. Which was quite sacrificial of me, I thought, except they were served with dubious chicken sausages and hashbrowns.  Hmmm.

better go but just wanted to let you know i am alive and well, if somewhat annoyed cos this keyboard is weird and is ddriving me nuts and making me type funny.
