What is it about us guys that make us so slow in putting our hands up for long-term mission service? Short-term, for sure. Locally based ministries, absolutely. Bible college courses, yup still going there too. But here at WEC we seem to be forever praying for more men to train and go…particularly of the single variety. I’m married, and married young for that matter, so I can hardly talk…but I’m going to stick my neck out and say that it seems that women are way more courageous on this front than men.

My pores are thanking me for coming to GB.  I could feel them opening up and sucking in all the hot humid air the moment I stepped off the plane.  I just hope they exercise some discernment and don't let anything in that shouldn't be there!

The official said it was 26 degrees but I think his thermometer was broken.  By my personal reckoning it was at least 49 degrees.

So I have decided to inundate you all with emails from airports, so you get lulled into a false sense of security and completely overlook the fact that once I´m in GB I might not be able to email for ages.

Hope it works.

I´m in Lisbon!  And SO TIRED.  Tried to sleep sitting up at a cafe table for a while but it didn´t really work.  I have a six hour transit time so it´s now I wish I had been able to load more books on my ipod!  And I tried to practice my Creole but fell asleep at ´How are you?´

Hello from LA in the US of A!

It's taken me a good four minutes of credit to figure out how to use this public internet and that is only after the following conversation:

Me: Is their email somewhere around here?
Nice Lady:No, ma'am, maybe you can get someone to post it for you.
Me: No, sorry, I meant EEEmailing.
NL: No, there's nowhere to mail anything in the airport.  I'm sorry.
Me: I mean... like, the internet???
NL: Oh!  The IN'ERNET  (pronounced with strong American accent).  Yes, it's upstairs by the Chinese food!

So here I am, up far far too early, after going to bed far, far too late, after packing for HOURS.

Who knew taking things out of boxes and putting them in bags could be so time-consuming?  Actually.... I did!

The last few weeks have been CRAZY - and I mean that - but it's so good to finally be actually about to go.  There's only so much preparation you can do (even a practical details person like myself) before you want to spit the proverbial dummy.

Hey it's only the next day and already there is more progress! Very exciting to feel like things are getting done. Hopefully we are ready to go live by Christmas now :)

Hmmm... so it's been a couple of weeks of there's still not as much of the content added to the website as we'd like... it needs to go live soon! But it's not like we've been twiddling our thumbs during this time.
